        Baby Don't Cry is Namie Amuro's 31st solo single, released as CD and CD&DVD on January 24, 2007. The song is a mid tempo pop song produced by recent collaborator, Nao'ymt. Upon release, the single became her best selling single for its first week on the Oricon Charts since Say the word in 2001. After two weeks, it had already outsold her 2005 single, White Light / Violet Sauce and her 2006 single, CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK / Ningyo. It sold 108,562 copies after four weeks on charts and outsold WANT ME, WANT ME and GIRL TALK / the SPEED STAR, and after five weeks it had sold a total of 118,929 copies, being her best selling single since Say the word.

        The song also serves as the opening theme of the J-Drama Himitsu no Hanazono, aka The Secret Garden. It's a charming, 11-episode comedy that stars Shaku Yumiko, Sakai Masato, Ikeda Tesuhiro, Kaname Jun, Hongo Kanata ( squeal ), and others. The series opens with Tsukiyama Kayo, an editor of a fashion magazine, who is ultimately transfered to the manga department because the fashion magazine she previously worked at was suspended. She is assigned as the editor of popular shoujo manga-ka Hanazono Yuriko, and is off to the manga-ka's home to pick up a manuscript. She meets four male "assistants," and after going through a line of chores from them that had her parading all around town, Tsukiyama finally demands to see the Hanazono Yuriko herself -- but the answer she gets wasn't what she expected. Hanazono Yuriko isn't in fact one person -- but four! The four "assitants" -- brothers Wataru, Osamu, Satoshi, and Hinata -- all make up Hanozono Yuriko!
        The show follows Tsukiyama and her troubles with each of the "Hanazono brothers" and the world of shoujo manga and publishing, a world that has been forever been a secret, up until now.
